Choosing a Name

Geeta was determined to start a travel blog — to exercise her blogging muscles in preparation for the coming school year and to give the kids a creative outlet.

First order of business, choosing a name. Seemed simple enough. Family Travel Blog. Passage to India. To India and Beyond. All taken.

How far is it to India? Seven thousand something miles? Seven thousand one hundred and twenty six miles. (Medford to New Delhi.) 7126Miles.blogspot was free. Amazing!

Now to give it a touch of poetry and a small dash of the absurd. What poem best embodies New Delhi in July? Or perhaps might offer relief to the 110 degree misery index?

Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening
Robert Frost

Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village, though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.

My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.

He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there's some mistake.
The only other sound's the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.

The woods are lovely, dark and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,

And 7,126 Miles to Go Before We Sleep.
